Owen Evans is a Senior Manager in True Partners Consulting’s Chicago office. He has over 11 years of tax and accounting experience specializing in all aspects of sales and use taxation, as well as negotiated incentives. Prior to joining True Partners Consulting, he spent over seven years with Arthur Andersen LLP’s Chicago office as a Manager in the state and local tax practice. Post-Arthur Andersen, he worked as one of three founders of a small local tax consulting firm and was later employed as a state and local tax manager for the largest privately held distributor of medical equipment and supplies in the United States. He is proud to assist his clients in lowering their overall cost of doing business through responsible transaction tax planning and the acquisition of government incentives.
Mr. Evans has successfully completed multi-state sales and use tax and incentives engagements for Fortune 500 and mid-sized clients in the manufacturing, service, retail, distribution, utility, construction, transportation, retail, healthcare, and telecommunications industries. He has assisted clients with sales and use tax issues, including transaction planning, refund review, process automation/system implementation, and audit defense.
Mr. Evans has spoken at numerous tax trainings and seminars. He is also a certified user of the Vertex and Taxware sales and use tax determination and returns filing software modules. He is also certified as a Vertex instructor and has conducted numerous Vertex related courses on the practical use of the Vertex sales and use tax software.
Mr. Evans received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from DePaul University. He is a member of the Taxpayers’ Federation of Illinois, the Illinois Enterprise Zone Association, and the Illinois Tax Increment Association.
