Karen Horne is a Senior Manager in True Partners Consulting’s Chicago office.  She oversees the Firm’s sales tax compliance center in Chicago, which is responsible for the preparation of clients’ monthly sales and use tax returns.

Prior to joining True Partners Consulting, Ms. Horne was a Senior Manager and Team Leader with Tax Partners’ Downers Grove Compliance Center.  She was directly responsible for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries such as retail, manufacturing, and waste services industries.  Prior to Tax Partners, she was a Senior Manager and Team Leader with Deloitte Tax LLP.  Prior to Deloitte Tax, she was a manager with Arthur Andersen’s Chicago office SALT practice focusing on sales/use compliance and consulting.  She has over 17 years of public and private expertise in multi-state sales and use tax consulting and compliance, including specialized knowledge in the retail, manufacturing, and waste services areas.  Based on this experience, she brings extensive knowledge as a specialist in a wide range of sales and use tax processes and automated solutions.  She has over 10 years of hands-on experience with the Vertex sales and use tax software.

Ms. Horne received her Bachelor of Administration degree in Accounting from North Central College.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
