Jim Kane is a Managing Director and a founding member of True Partners Consulting. He specializes in assisting owners of large, complex properties effectively manage their state and local tax burden. Throughout his career, Mr. Kane has helped Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies identify and secure tax reduction opportunities. His clients have included major companies in the following industries: manufacturing, telecommunications, wireless, oil, commercial airlines, independent power production and public utilities. Although the primary emphasis of his career has been on property taxes, he has also assisted many clients with securing lucrative government incentives.

The majority of Mr. Kane's career has been at large accounting firms, including 14 years at Arthur Andersen, where he served in various capacities including Partner. He has held leadership positions, overseeing practices and developing training and methodologies to enhance client service quality.

Mr. Kane received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Notre Dame Law School. He is a licensed attorney in Illinois. He is also actively involved in the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce where he serves as the Chair of the Taxation Committee and the Chair of the Property Tax Sub-Committee, which is charged with reviewing the Cook County Property Tax System and recommending progressive changes to the current system. He has been a frequent speaker on various tax topics including the tax implications of electric industry restructuring and has testified before state legislative bodies on tax matters in seven different states.
